Background

Grandparents Around the World Productions Inc. was founded and incorporated in 2005 by Evern G. Randolph to bring long overdue attention, gratitude, respect and an awareness of the elder generation of our society. Based on the immensely nurturing and “survival” teaching relationship Ms. Randolph had with her own grandmother, Ms Randolph realized the imperative need for interaction and relationship with grandparents. The elder generation for all families, all races and cultures around the world were going unnoticed and even disregarded in today’s world. Even in countries and societies known for cultivating such relationships with “elders” to impart wisdom through their vast experiences, changes toward being more “hip” and “trendy” were deleting these family ties to grandparents. In an effort to demonstrate the importance and need for that strong family tie, Ms. Randolph was inspired to tell her own story of her relationship with her grandmother through theatrical means by writing her first “play with music”, Dinner at Grandma’s. There was an immediate positive response and the play developed an New York multi-community audience from its inception and first production.

Because of the positive response to the play, and Ms Randolph’s desire to foster relationships, Grandparents Around the World Productions Inc. was born, taking on a worldwide mission to rebuild the family unit by bridging the gaps of communication and relationship between seniors and children/youth. This is a dire need in many cities, states, and countries worldwide, whether the scenario involves traditional or non-traditional family settings. The world NEEDS the elders, the grandparents to actively participate in nurturing the future generations of leaders, teachers, plumbers, artists, lawyers, garbage collectors, etc. as POSTIVE ROLE MODELS and trusted friends to our children and young people.
